This is part of our ongoing commitment to
strengthening African capabilities and systems. This workshop is designed to provide participants with a unique opportunity to delve into the world of molecular diagnostics, exploring the cutting-edge techniques and methodologies used to identify and characterise infectious agents. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants will gain practical experience in molecular laboratory techniques, including Pipetting, Nucleic acid Extraction from different materials, Gel electrophoresis, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Realtime PCR, Introduction to Next Generation Sequencing and Introduction to Basic Bioinformatics. Led by a team of experienced instructors and renowned experts in the field, this workshop aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, equipping participants with the skills and confidence to contribute effectively to their own research and diagnostic efforts. By fostering a collaborative learning environment, we hope to facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices among attendees, ultimately strengthening Africa's capacity to respond swiftly and decisively to infectious disease outbreaks.
This workshop is supported by the fund received for the establishment of CERID by AVH and Bayer Foundation.
